Producer
Dana Merwin is a producer based in Oakland, Ca. For over ten years, she has worked in live event and video production in Los Angeles and the Bay Area. At Al Jazeera America, Dana served as production manager on the Peabody Award winning series Fault Lines. As a post supervisor, she delivered programming at BET Television, Universal Pictures, Magnolia Pictures, Outside Lands Music Festival and more. Dana was the Director of Operations for Jupiter Entertainment / Los Angeles where she oversaw docu-series for Discovery, Lifetime, Animal Planet and TLC.
Dana recently supported filmmakers as the program officer at the International Documentary Association. She co-led the Enterprise and Pare Lorentz Documentary Funds with Carrie Lozano and Poh Si Teng. She created over a dozen grant writing workshops, revamped the Documentary Core Application and mentored filmmakers in programs with Brown Girls Doc Mafia, SFFilm, Sundance Women in Film and more.
Dana is the founder of NewNow, an arts space in Oakland where she programs events, performs and teaches comedy workshops.
